The International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023 was celebrated by CHEF International in Karachi and Islamabad. Mr. Kamran Tessori, the Governor of Sindh, graced the occasion as the chief guest at the Karachi event. A total of 315 wheel- chairs were distributed to individuals with disabilities during a festive gala that included activities for children and families of persons with disabilities. The event featured food stalls, games, a musical con- cert, a magic show, and fireworks to mark the significance of the day. Governor Sindh, Mr. Kamran Tessori , actively participated in the cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
In Islamabad, CHEF International also celebrated the day by distributing 250 wheelchairs to persons with disabilities. The event took place in a marquee and saw the enthusiastic participation of individuals with disabilities, their families, and children. Representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, ICRC, British Council, and OPDs from Islamabad/Rawalpindi also took part in the event. Students and faculty from PIRS volunteered and set up stalls throughout the day-long celebration.
